My passion for supporting empowered, faith-filled births began with my first pregnancy. I wanted to make the best decisions for both myself and my baby, so in addition to reading trusted resources and seeking advice from loved ones, I hired a doula. Throughout my long induced labor, my doula was a constant source of reassurance and encouragement. As I navigated conversations about interventions—including magnesium treatment for high blood pressure and the possibility of a cesarean birth—she helped me feel informed, supported, and confident in every decision I made. Although my birth included several medical interventions, I ultimately had a positive vaginal birth experience, and I experienced firsthand the difference a doula can make.
Her impact was so meaningful that I hired her again for my second pregnancy. This time, I continued to deepen my knowledge of pregnancy and birth while taking a more proactive approach to nourishing my body and supporting my overall health. Combined with the support of my care team, these choices helped me approach labor with greater confidence and peace, leading to another positive and empowering birth experience with minimal interventions.
As the years have passed—especially since becoming a mother—my faith has become the foundation of who I am, and naturally, the foundation of my work as well. Drawing from my faith and experience as an educator, my goal is to educate and support families as they make informed decisions throughout their journey. Most of all, my prayer is that they feel surrounded by God’s peace and reminded of His presence as they prepare to welcome their newest blessing into the world.
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." — Isaiah 41:10
